Turbo Power Systems have been awarded the contract to design and manufacture the power supplies for the cab air conditioning system as part of the refurbishment of the London Underground D class rolling stock.

Each of the seventy-five strong fleet which operate on the District Line will be fitted with two 6kW power supplies provided by Turbo Power Systems.

They operate by taking the 600 volt dc variable track power supply and converting it into a three-phase 415 volt ac output to produce high quality stabilised power for the train's air conditioning system.

The power converters comply with London Underground's rigorous safety standards and have been designed and extensively Type Tested to provide consistent performance and reliability in the most arduous of mechanical and electrical environments.
