TPS celebrate after scooping Elektra Award!
Winners for Power Systems Product of 2016 category
TPS have won the Elektra Award for Power Systems Product of 2016 category and we are truly honored! Engineering and Business Development Director Nigel Jakeman and Power Electronics Engineer Andrew Tenwick collected the glass trophy at this year’s Elektra European Electronics Awards.
“We would like to give a huge thank you to Electronics Weekly and its judges. This award is an honor and validation of the positive progress we have made over the last few years. TPS have grown in sales and staff, and we continue to increase the capabilities of our products for the Rail industry”, said CEO Carlos Neves.
TPS was recognised for our High Voltage DC-DC 100kW Power Converter Module, the next-gen product for the Railway Industry. The main purpose of the DC-DC converter module will be to provide stable and isolated DC output for power conversion applications. This module will be lighter and compact with reduced losses compared to legacy designs thereby contributing to a greener use of energy.
The intended application is principally for power conversion and isolation on board rail vehicles. Other applications include power distribution as a means of galvanic isolation or as a solid state transformer (SST). Electrical / mechanical robustness, high efficiency, low weight and compact dimensions are key requirements for the railway industry and this module is designed with all these objectives in mind. There are different versions available that cover variable input voltages, various cooling arrangements and variable conversion power/voltage outputs. In short these modules can be tailored to meet customer requirements.
