By increasing system voltage (e.g., from 400V to 800V+), EVs can deliver the same power with less current. That means thinner cables, less copper, and lighter vehicles—without compromising performance.  This is where the Megawatt Charging System (MCS) comes in. Moving from CCS / NACS to MCS charging in the future can reduce the charging time of these vehicles by a factor of 4, resulting in charging times of less than 30 minutes, meaning depot operators can consider operational logistics models that closely resemble those used today when fuelling conventional vehicles.
