For local authorities and public fleets in particular, this will increase cost efficiencies, enabling organisations to buy electricity at off peak rates, store it in vehicle batteries and then re-route it back into their own ‘micro network’ of buildings, equipment and fleet vehicles at times when power is more expensive.
